Prevent tonsil stones

If you still have your tonsils, a pretty common cause of bad breath is tonsil stones. These are deposits of bacteria, mucus, and food that settle into the many crevices in your tonsils. As you can imagine, these don’t smell very well.

You can prevent them by either removing your tonsils or using a water flosser and gargling mouthwash or salt water after brushing. That’ll help remove any bacteria that collects that could potentially turn into a tonsil stone.

Drink more water

If you don’t drink enough water during the day, you’ll end up with chronic dry mouth. This prohibits the production of saliva, which actually helps keep your mouth smelling fresh.

Great oral hygiene

This is the simplest, yet most overlooked, way to ensure that you have consistently good breath. Practicing good oral hygiene will ensure the removal of bacteria from your mouth, which is the number one cause of bad breath.
